This Mother’s Day gift set design takes the empowering message behind Eleventh Candle Co. and increases its reach. The customer selects three Eleventh Candle Co. values, in the form of candle scents, that they feel represent their mother. These three values come packaged in an elegant and feminine set with visuals and words to make their mom feel appreciated. However, it is more than a box of custom selected candles—the purchase of this gift set feeds a child in need for an entire month. This set represents the beauty and strength of motherhood, the power of expressing appreciation, and the global impact of each Eleventh Candle Co. order.
The goal of this project is to unify and modernize the Mountain Sweet Honey Company brand through the design of a new logo, style guide, print application, and responsive website. The logo concept combines a bee figure and the silhouette of a mountain in order to represent the name of the company as well as its geographic roots. The brand visuals are based on three words in order to express the real-life personality of this company: authentic, natural, and local. A guide to a successful nuc-to-hive transition on the lid of each Mountain Sweet Honey Company bee nuc educates first-time beekeepers. SpiritSong is a Christian music festival that takes place within Kings Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. The lineup includes popular Christian solo artists, bands, comedians, and speakers. Festival tickets are purchased through the Kings Island website and vary by number of days and features included. This website concept is clean and straightforward, enabling users to get the information they want without being bombarded by content they do not want to see. The colors are vibrant and exciting to reference the fun of the amusement park this festival takes place in. The line work used in illustrations, lettering, and buttons is inspired by the appearance of the structure of many modern roller coasters. Baseball Express is a vast online baseball gear retailer. The user demographic for this site ranges from the college team coach to the mom whose son outgrew last year’s cleats, but every Baseball Express customer is looking to quickly purchase fairly priced, quality baseball gear. This design applies the slant of the Baseball Express logo throughout the site and incorporates gold, the third most popular baseball jersey color, as the functionality color. The slanted elements reinforce the feeling of the word “express.” Primarily dark tones allow this site to stand out from its competitors and for the gold links to stand out for the user.
